Cruise Ship Tip: Stay on the Ship While in Port
Want my best cruise ship tip? I’ve taken more cruises than I can count through many cruise lines, and there’s one fact that always surprises me: I usually enjoy staying on the ship more than venturing out in the ports.
Don’t get me wrong, a cruise vacation is a great way to get introduced to a new-to-you place, and the excursions are fun, exciting, and safe. But I have to be honest: staying on the boat is more fun for me.
So today, I’ll share 3 reasons you should consider staying on the boat during your next cruise.
Reason #1 To Stay on the Boat: Save Money
Cruising can be expensive, but I always end up spending *more* money if I disembark at port.
After all, food, most beverages, and entertainment is included in your cruise fare! You’ll have to pay more for those things once you get off the boat.
Another perk to staying on the ship? Spa treatments are often discounted on port days, so that’s a great time to get a facial or a massage!
Reason #2 To Stay on the Boat: Enjoy the Ship’s Amenities Without the Crowd
Most people will disembark on port days, which will give you an opportunity to enjoy the spa, pool, sun deck, gym, dining options, and more with less crowds and wait times.
Imagine taking a nap (or taking advantage of your drink package!) poolside while most of your fellow passengers are in port? Heaven!
Reason #3 To Stay on the Boat: Relaxation
And speaking of naps, staying on-board the ship while it’s a port will give you an opportunity to rest and recharge; this is especially helpful if you have a port-intensive itinerary.
You’re bound to be tired after a busy few days at sea and port excursions, so planning a rest-day is a good idea. The ship will be more calm and quiet, so you’ll get to take advantage of a peaceful ship.
