Is Your Home Ready for your Vacation?
Picture this:
With the help of your travel planner, you plan an epic family vacation. Everyone in the family was bouncing with anticipation leading up to the trip, all the details were arranged, your amazing travel planner made sure ALL the pieces of your trip were ready… There was a flurry of last-minute packing and making sure that work would survive while you were away, and then you were off! Hooray for vacay!
Fast forward a week…
Now you have to come home. I know, this is the sad part of the story. Vacation is always so much fun and coming back to reality can be just plain hard.
It snowed while you were gone and as you and the family get out of the car, you have to wrangle your luggage through the layers of snow and ice just to get in the house. Inside, you are welcomed by the evidence of your hasty packing activity before you left – clothes, shoes, and unused luggage everywhere.
Everyone is tired, grumpy, and hungry, and the few options left in the fridge are dismal.
The bananas that were sitting on the counter when you left are now brown mush and have attracted fruit flies and ants.
Your house plants are not looking so good and you’re afraid to open the lid to the kitchen trash can because you can already tell it’s going to be unpleasant.
You forgot that you started a load of laundry while you were packing, and the damp clothes have been in the washer for a week (yuck!)
Can you relate?
I sure can – I’ve experienced each and every one of those and more (I’ll tell you about coming home to a squirrel in my house another time).
Coming home does NOT have to be a sad, miserable event.
Putting a little time and energy into preparing your home for your vacay is WORTH IT! Trust me!
Don’t worry, I’ve gotcha covered.
I created a checklist for you so that all you have to worry about when you get home is unpacking.
This checklist covers the home preparation basics plus a few bonuses
