Nickelodeon Resorts: Family Fun in the Caribbean

Did you know there are a pair of 5-star, all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean perfect for families who love not only fun in the sun but some of entertainment’s most popular and beloved characters? 

It’s true! Nickelodeon Resorts is a must-visit for families, so today, I’ll give you the skinny on two of the brand’s Caribbean escapes: Nickelodeon Resorts Punta Cana and Riviera Maya. 

You’ll learn about these beautiful Caribbean destinations as well as the entertainment, amenities, and accommodations at Nick Resorts.

Nickelodeon Resorts: The Destinations

While the accommodations, amenities, and experiences at each resort are similar, there are a few destination distinctions to keep in mind.

Nickelodeon Resorts: Punta Cana

Known for its beautiful beaches and turquoise waters, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is one of the most popular vacation spots in Latin America. 

Nickelodeon’s Punta Cana Resort, which opened in 2016, is located on Uvero Alto Beach near the Punta Cana International Airport. 

The resort boasts several swim-up, character-themed accommodation options. It’s also home to the one and only Pineapple Villa, a SpongeBob-themed loft-style villa with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, an infinity pool, gardens, and private butlers.

Nickelodeon Resorts: Riviera Maya

Nickelodeon’s Riviera Maya Resort, located in Cancun, Mexico, is a newer property. Opening in August of 2021, it’s the country’s first Nickelodeon property. 

The property features 280 oceanfront swim-up, character-themed suites (including four penthouses with complimentary butler service). Each suite is designed for a family of five and includes 2 bathrooms. 

Riviera Maya is famous for its upscale, all-inclusive resorts and is home to three of the largest underwater cave systems in the world.

All-Inclusive Amenities

Here’s what’s included during your stay at these resorts:

Since Nickelodeon Resorts are designed for families, you can expect a variety of complimentary baby and toddler items to help make your stay more comfortable. If you plan to travel with babies or toddlers, you can count on these amenities:

  • Strollers

  • Pack-n-Play

  • Cribs

  • Bottle sterilizers

  • Baby bathtubs

  • Baby monitors

  • Portable changing tables

  • Toddler bathrobes

  • In-room step stool/bench

  • Booster chairs and highchairs

Kids ages 0-4 also have access ($15/day) to the Baby Zone, a nursery area with toys, cribs, learning activities, and an open play area. (The Baby Zone is only available at the Punta Cana resort.)

Nickelodeon Place

Nickelodeon Place can be found at both resorts and is the spot to be for family fun, shopping, and character meet and greets. 

It’s home to Aqua Nick (a 6-acre water park), Character Central, Club Nick, restaurants, and an entertainment venue.

Club Nick

Club Nick is an indoor spot for family fun. It includes a mega ball pit, a two-story slide, and a daily schedule of character-themed activities, including arts and crafts, cooking sessions, and mini theater performances. 

Parents will appreciate that Club Nick offers supervised experience programs for kids ages 4-12.

Character Central

At the Punta Cana resort, head to Character Central to meet your favorite Nickelodeon characters, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob and Friends, Paw Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, and Dora the Explorer. 

Guests can even arrange private meet and greets or host birthday parties with the characters!

(Both resorts have opportunities for character meet and greets, including character dinners and appearances throughout the resorts.)

What Not To Miss

There are several one-of-a-kind activities and events you have to check out while staying at a Nickelodeon resort:

  • Get slimed! Each resort offers opportunities to get slimed Nickelodeon style

  • Pajama Jam Character Breakfasts (Punta Cana and Riviera Maya) and Dinners (Riviera Maya)

To Sum It Up

If your family loves sun, sand, and SLIME, the Nickelodeon Resorts in Punta Cana and Riviera Maya are for you. 

I suggest booking your vacation at least 6 months in advance in order to get your pick at accommodations, but you can book as late a 1 month.

Remember, peak times are usually during school breaks (spring and summer).
