Websites and blogs, oh my!
Talk about stepping outside of my comfort zone! I don’t know a whole lot about blogging, but that’s not gonna stop me from giving it a whirl. Always up for learning something new.
Why have I started a website and blog you ask? Great question!
As mentioned on my About page, I am a single mom and an active duty labor & delivery nurse and have been serving on active duty for 17 years now. Wait, what?! Yes, you read that correctly. I have been active duty navy for SEVENTEEN years… It has been fun, and exciting, and rewarding, but also very challenging at times. (Stick with me, I promise we’re getting to the point here soon)
Last year, I sat down with a notebook and pen and made a few lists: Things I love about the navy, things I don’t love about the navy, things I love about nursing, things I don’t love about nursing, and what characteristics my dream job would have. I won’t bore you with all those details, but the important (and overlapping) themes identified are that I have (1) a passion for serving people and (2) a love for travel.
So again, why did I start a blog?
I’ve got a lifetime of travel experience that may be helpful to you in your travel adventures; a blog seems a good place to share some of that knowledge.
