Virgin Voyages Rockstar Suite Life (& Why You Should Upgrade)

That’s how I describe my cruise on Virgin Voyages to literally anyone I come across. (No family member, friend, Instagram follower, or cashier has been spared my rave review! 🤣)
And I am 100 percent convinced that the experience was so much better because we upgraded our cabin to a suite–The Cheeky Corner Suite to be exact.
So in today’s post, I want to tell you all about that Suite Life on board a Virgin Voyages cruise.

Rockstar Status
For this adventure, my sister-in-law and I upgraded from a standard cabin to a suite.
Guests who choose a suite are called Rockstars (while those who choose standard cabins are called “Sailors.”
Each suite was designed by Tom Dixon, an industrial designer whose works have been acquired by London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of Modern Art New York, and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
While I won’t get into the differences between each type of suite offered, I will say that, in my opinion, The Cheeky Corner is the best room category on the ship.
At between 615-857 square feet, this suite offers wrapping, panoramic views from the corner of the ship and had more than enough space for the two of us.
But enough about the room! Let’s get into those Rockstar perks!
Pre-boarding Perks
The advantages of Rockstar Status begin long before you step onboard the ship! For example, Rockstars can book Shore Things (aka shore excursions) 60 days prior to their sailing (that’s 15 days before Sailors can book).
Rockstars also get priority access to dining reservations; 15 days before Sailors can book.
Rockstars are even offered a private transfer service to and from the ship on embarkation and debarkation days.
(While this does incur a cost, it is a service only offered to Rockstar guests and must be scheduled in advance.)
Port Perks
At port, Rockstars have a separate, much shorter, check in line. In our case, there was no line at all!
You also have access to a private waiting area with complimentary beverages and light snacks while you wait for your COVID test results before you board.
Onboard Perks
This is where you get the most bang for your buck!
In addition to the free wi-fi, the onboard perks for Rockstars just can’t be beat.
RockStar Agent
First, let’s start with the RockStar Agent, which is your concierge service.
While onboard, you’ll have a dedicated RockStar Agent who will check in with you every day to ensure you have all that you need and to assist you with dining, entertainment, shore excursions, your in-room bar, and more.
Have questions or need help? Ask your RockStar agent! You can even text them directly any time of day using the Virgin Voyages app.
Private Access
Rockstars have exclusive access to Richard’s Rooftop–a private sundeck and lounge area dedicated to Rockstars.
It boasts panoramic ocean views, lavish cocktail hours, and late night parties under the stars, according to virginvoyages.com.
You’ll also get exclusive access to Richard’s Retreat–a private bar and lounge area at The Beach at Bimini.
The Beach Club at Bimini is Virgin Voyage's private Beach Club and Richard's Retreat is the private club (exclusive to Rockstars) within the private beach club.
In-Room Perks
First, let’s talk about your bar.
The first round in your in-room bar is on Richard, and we’re not just talking about a single glass of wine or a cocktail.
Here’s what was stocked in our bar:
375ml bottles of:
Belvedere vodka
Avion Silver tequila
Buffalo Trace bourbon
Bombay Sapphire dry gin
Bacardi Superior rum
Cabernet Sauvignon
Pinot Noir Rose
Moet and Chandon
Beer (cans)
Heineken
Stray the Course by Wynwood Brewing Company (Virgin Voyages’ signature beer
Non-alcoholic
Red bull
Flavored tonic water
Kombucha
You can even take a bottle of wine from your room with you to dinner and your service team will serve it for you!
To Sum It Up
My sister-in-law and I both agreed that the experience and luxury we had as a Rockstar guest was absolutely incredible, and the value we received far outweighed the cost difference between a Sea Terrace (balcony room) and our suite.
Remember, Rockstar guests can expect:
Pre-boarding perks, including early access to dining and excursions reservations.
At-Port perks, including a separate check in and exclusive lounge
And onboard perks, including free wifi, a personal concierge, free in-room drinks, and access to several exclusive spots, including Richard’s Rooftop.
I can’t recommend Virgin Voyages–and that Suite Life–enough!
