My Top 3 Must-Pack Travel Accessories

60,000 results. That’s how many items popped up on Amazon when I searched “packing accessories.” 😮

If you have a big trip coming up, you might be looking for a few (not 60,000) accessories to make packing a little easier.

And look–I don’t usually travel with a ton of travel-specific accessories, but there are three essentials you’ll always find in my suitcase.

Keep reading to find out what they are, plus a bonus accessory that might surprise you!

Essential Packing Accessory #1: Packing Cubes

One of my favorite packing essentials are these packing cubes. These save space and make organizing your travel items so much easier.

Plus, they offer a great layer of protection just in case something spills inside your luggage.

Here’s my favorite!

Essential Packing Accessory #2: Toiletry Bag

I never leave home without a good toiletry bag. How else am I supposed to travel with my 37.5-step skin care routine, my dozen hair care products, and my ...toothbrush? 😉

While I don’t have a particular bag to recommend, I do suggest you consider a few things when purchasing one:

  1. Make sure your bag is fairly water resistant just in case your airline plays ping pong with your luggage during boarding.

  2. Make sure it’s large enough for all of your items. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to cram that last bottle of lotion into a bag that’s too full.

Essential Packing Accessory #3: : GoToobs

GoToobs are silicone travel containers that are great for packing your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and any other liquids you need to pack.

They’re reusable, leak proof, dishwasher safe, and carry-on size.

Since finding these, I’ll never pour my liquid toiletries into those little drugstore travel containers again!

Bonus Essential: Ziploc Bags

What’s my motto when it comes to packing? If it can leak, assume that it WILL leak.

With that in mind, I always pack Ziploc bags.

What do I use them for?

If I pack full-size bottles of shampoo and conditioner for a longer trip(as opposed to using the GoToob), I’ll stick the bottles in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag.

I also pack a few bags in various sizes just in case. For example, on my recent Virgin Voyages cruise, we made a stop in Mexico and I bought a large bottle of Mexican vanilla extract.

To make sure it didn’t leak in my luggage, I sealed it up in a gallon size Ziploc bag.

I also used one to pack my wet bathing suit!

Wrapping Up

Even though I’m a bit of a minimalist when it comes to packing (with the exception of that skincare routine, of course  😉) there are a few packing accessories I can’t leave home without!

  1. Packing cubes

  2. A water resistant toiletry bag

  3. GoToobs

  4. Ziploc Bags
