My Top Gifts for Travelers in 2022

This is it! Your go-to resource for gifts for travelers in 2022.

If you know me at all, you know I think travel is just about the best gift you can give someone. But that doesn’t mean you have to give your loved one an all-expenses paid vacation!

Instead, why not give them something that will make travel a little easier?

Keep reading to learn about my favorite luggage, packing accessories, and more!

Luggage and Totes

Ok. I’ll admit it. I’m a total luggage snob. And that’s because a bad piece of luggage can make traveling a huge pain.

Checked Luggage

This suitcase is my absolute favorite. It’s relatively affordable, durable, rolls well, and is lightweight (trust me–I use every allowable pound when I check a bag).

Carry-On Luggage

I really love this carry-on bag by Osprey. It has inline wheels that won’t get snagged on airport flooring, and it’s compatible with most international carry-on standards (which are smaller than US standards).

It also features a large pocket at the top of the pack for quick, easy access to liquids. So, if your gift recipient gets TSA anxiety like I do, this bag is perfect for them!

Tote

This is my favorite tote, mostly thanks to its many storage compartments. (But also because it’s really cute!)

It has a padded compartment for tablets and laptops, zips all the way across the top, and has a trolly strap that fits over the handle of roller luggage–making it super easy to carry down long terminals.

Backpack

This is hands down my favorite backpack. So what if it’s marketed as a diaper bag!?

And all the things that make it a good diaper bag make it the best travel backpack. It offers a ton of storage and is easy to clean. And its padded, adjustable straps make it perfect for long travel days.

Belt Bag/Fanny Pack

If your gift recipient plans to travel with kids, they’ll want a hands free bag–trust me!

This belt-bag has a small profile and can hold a phone, charging pack, headphones, keys, ID/credit cards, hand sanitizer, and chapstick.

Pro Tip: Belt bags are a MUST for theme parks, so if your loved one is heading to Disney or Universal soon, this makes for a great gift!

Luggage Tags and Passport Holders

Luggage tags and passport holders make for great gifts! Because while they’re not 100 percent necessary, they make identifying bags at baggage claim so much easier.

Standard Luggage Tags

These waterproof, leather luggage tags are perfect. They’re available in a variety of colors and feature a privacy cover to keep your information safe.

But if you’re looking for a personalized option, these are my favorite. This Etsy seller offers these tags in an array of colors and customization options.

Cruise Luggage Tags

Did you know that cruise ships require special luggage tags?

I like this option for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise lines.

And these are perfect for Carnival and Princess cruise lines (but they’ll also fit the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity luggage tags as well.)

Passport/Vaccination Card Holder

I love this wearable option, which features RFID blocking technology and several compartments for cash, coins, etc.

If you’re looking for a more traditional holder, check out this inexpensive passport/COVID card wallet.

Packing Accessories

I gotta be honest. I hate packing! But over the years (and after many, many trips for both work and pleasure) I’ve perfected my packing ritual thanks to these handy accessories!

I swear by these packing cubes. They come in four sizes and are super durable. Packing cubes allow you to fit more in your bag, and they reduce wrinkles, too!

GoToobs are my go-to for liquids. Instead of packing full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, I save space by filling up my GoToob containers with my favorite products. These are bestsellers for a reason: they’re TSA friendly, leak proof, and mess-free!

Lastly, the Apple Air Tags are a must. Just drop one in each suitcase and never worry about losing your luggage again. And don’t forget the holders!

Waterproof Cameras

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve met travelers who regret not purchasing a waterproof camera for their beach vacation or cruise.

These are not only great for snorkeling and scuba diving trips, but make for great, underwater photos on a normal beach day, too!

The Sea Life Sport Diver

The Sea Life Sport Diver is an underwater smartphone housing perfect for someone who would rather use their phone for all photography.

While it does take a few minutes to set up and seal, it’s easy to use, and your gift recipient won’t have to worry about transferring their photos from a micro SD card to another device.

The GoPro

The GoPro takes up little space, takes great photos and videos, and is perfect for the outdoor adventurer.

The cons? The buttons can be hard to operate. It also requires a micro SD card, is  less intuitive than a smartphone, and photos and videos have to be transferred to another device.

The Yifecial Waterproof Camera

If you’re looking for a more budget friendly option, this is your best bet.

It’s small and takes great photos, but it can be difficult to see the viewfinder and menu options underwater.

It also requires batteries and a micro SD card and photos and videos have to be transferred to another device.

Travel Accessories

At the risk of sounding like a major diva, I can’t leave home without these little luxuries. 👇

I love this travel pillow. It offers 360° head support so I never worry about a sore neck on long flights.

And this eye mask features a soft fabric that covers the bridge of the nose, which blocks out any light that might otherwise sneak in. It’s perfect for long flights or city hotel rooms. Plus, its shape more effectively blocks out light and protects lashes.

That’s a Wrap!

That’s a wrap on my 2022 Gift Guide for Travelers! What would you add to the list? Be sure to let me know on Instagram or in the comments of this blog post!

And if you do want to give the gift of travel this holiday season, let’s chat! I’m happy to help you give the perfect vacation to that special friend or loved one!
