4 Last Minute 2023 Spring Break Destinations for Families
I hate to break it to ya, but it’s almost too late to plan a spring break vacation. Many resorts and all-inclusives are already booked!
But where there’s a will, there’s a vacay! So keep reading for 4 last minute spring break destinations for families!
A Quick Disclaimer About
I always advise my clients to book their vacation as soon as they can, because while accommodations might be available today, there’s a good chance they won’t be tomorrow.
So, if something in this blog post speaks to you, reach out ASAP so we can get your vacation booked!
Also, a quick Google search told me that the peak dates for Spring Break 2023 are March 4-11, so I’ll use that week for this blog post.
Let’s get to it! Here are my 2023 spring break ideas for families!
Walt Disney World–Orlando, Florida
Weather-wise, March is a great time to visit Orlando–making Disney one of the best spring break destinations for families.
As of this writing, more than 30 official Walt Disney World resorts are available for booking March 4-11, including Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, and all of Disney’s All Star value resorts (Sports, Movies, Pop Century, and Music.)
Keep in mind that you need to make park reservations in addition to your accommodations.
Additionally, while reservations are not required at Disney restaurants, they are highly recommended; it’s difficult to find a table at the last minute!
Disney World can be complicated (I’ve spent hours on hold with its customer service representatives), so reach out for my free travel planning services!

2. Universal Studios–Orlando, Florida
Have you ever tried Universal Studios?
As I mentioned in a previous blog post, while I love Disney, Universal offers (somewhat) less crowds, shorter ride wait times, and a more walkable experience.
As of this writing, all eight Universal Studios resort hotels are available for booking, including its newest value option–Endless Summer Resort: Dockside Inn and Suites and Surfside Inn and Suites.
And, when you stay at this resort, you’ll get early park admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and select rides at Volcano Bay up to one hour before the parks open.
3. All Inclusive Resorts
Looking for a more tropical destination?
You might assume that all inclusive resorts are for adults only, but there are quite a few family friendly options, too!
For example, I could book you a Preferred Club Ocean View (with two queen beds) at Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya on Mexico’s northeastern Yucatan Peninsula.
This resort features fun for the entire family, including Mayan Ruins tours, scuba lessons, dolphin excursions, kids clubs, and more.

4. Staycation
If you wait too late to book any of these spring break destinations, don't worry! Staycations can be a fun and exciting way to explore your city and state.
Here are a few ways to enjoy your home town or state:
Visit your local Convention and Visitors Bureau and ask them to recommend local must-sees (and eats!)
Google “Museums in ______ [your state]” and make a plan to visit 2-3.
If you don’t live near your state’s capitol, book an overnight stay at a hotel and pretend to be a tourist.
What is something quirky your city or state is known for? Create a tour/itinerary based on that.
